Disney Plus is set to release November 12th 2019 and it is already in motion to shake up the streaming market. With the increase in pricing for Netflix and Disney confirming that the monthly service fee for Disney Plus will be 6.99 a month it’s easy to see how many people might make the switch. With Disney content exclusively streaming on the platform there will be a wide array of content to choose from. One of the biggest benefits of the new Disney streaming service is having access to the Disney Vault. Classic films such as “Pinocchio” “The Lion King” “Alice in Wonderland” were part of the catalog of movies locked away in the Disney Vault. These films were not available on streaming platforms unless you purchased the physical or digital copies.
It has been confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Iger that the once locked away films will now be available to stream on the Disney Plus platform. Many Disney fans might recall the commercials from the 90s and 2000s advising specific films being available for a limited time before being locked away in the vault. Another amazing value the Disney Plus service will offer is access to the Star Wars and Marvel Films. The entire Star Wars Saga itself is priced higher than the yearly fee for the subscription. This alone will make having the Disney Plus subscription a must have for fans of the Star Wars universe.
Disney could have easily made these old films accessible and still found success. On top of that they are also going to produce original content. This has been confirmed with the Star Wars show “The Mandalorian” which is led by Jon Favreau the brilliant mind who directed “The Jungle Book” the “Iron-Man” films and the upcoming “Lion King” live action film. With this confirmation it is apparent that Disney is determined to produce high quality original content for their streaming platform. Even with the conclusion of the Avengers story with the latest release of Avengers Endgame there is already confirmed spinoffs for the Marvel heroes. With Disney Plus exclusive show for The Winter Soldier and the Falcon, Disney is determined to cater to all audiences. Be prepared to sign up for the Disney Plus service once it becomes available on 11/12/2019. Head to disneyplus.com to sign up by then!
